The country's communication companies, Digicel and Vodafone Samoa, are offering easier access to online apps and payments. 

Paying with your smartphones is easier than before. 

mobile payment apps are providing customers with new ways of the medium of exchange, managing expenditures. With the country having access to faster communications and advanced technology, organizations have developed and established E-Commerce apps and cryptocurrency platforms.

With the State of Emergency in place, the public is advised to use the available apps online for their payments and purchases. Students and workplaces are using these services like the provision of their school and working materials and transferring information without having direct contact.

Digicel Samoa first updated Electric Power Corporation's  Energy Insight App. Users can access the app using their My Digicel App and payments are made through their Mobile Money online app.

The two companies have been working together to provide a convenient way for EPC prepaid customers and new users as they are stuck at their homes until the lockdown is done, another feature of the online app allows users to purchase and view personal information made available through the online app and the use of the Digicel Mobile Money App.

Over the years, EPC shifted from top-up voucher cards to online prepaid Cash Power and is one of the most effective ventures they have so far. Both Prepaid and no prepaid customers can purchase online and receive receipts via email. 

On the other hand, Vodafone Samoa prepaid app and announced that users can access the app for free and increased its users rapidly. The SWA MTala Bill Pay App improved the connection with customers. Paying from home and saving them time money and energy. They did not respond to questions on their slow connection when Samoa Observer asked.
