A couple from Denmark, whose travel to Samoa materialised after some internet research, are planning to see much of the country while they are here for three weeks.

Katherine Peterson and partner Kasper Hansen flew into Samoa three days ago and will spend the next three weeks exploring Samoa and seeing the culture.

"We googled 'Pacific Islands' and Samoa popped up as the [best] tourist destination and then we decided to come here," Katherine said.

Kasper revealed that since their arrival they have been visiting the coastal regions of Upolu island.

"Ever since we got here, we [have] just [been] wandering around figuring out how to do things, and just see the coastal areas.

They are also planning a visit to the big island as they heard it has a lot of tourist attractions, according to Kasper.

"We will visit the To Sua trench and also go to Savai’i and see what it's like there," he said.

This is the couple's first time in Samoa and they are expecting to learn and experience local culture while here.

Their first ever bus ride on a Samoa traditional bus was a highlight of their first three days in the country and they also found the people of Samoa very friendly and helpful.

Kasper said: "The people are helping us very much by showing us where to go and which bus to take so we could get to our destination, we also got information from Samoa Tourism as well to help us with travelling."
