National University of Samoa students could  now be resuming final exams in four weeks time, starting from December 16-18.

A University notice issued on the evening of Friday saying the Semester two finals will resume "if the State of Emergency is lifted."

The state of emergency that was declared on November 15 is said to last for 30 days, which means it lasts until December 15.

The new timetable will be posted on the University website and Facebook next week, Monday, 25 November.

"If the state of emergency continues then the new timetable will be cancelled and new exam dates will be set depending on when the continuation of the state of emergency is lifted," reads the notice.

Students were also advised to regularly check the University website and Facebook for further updates regarding final examination continuation.

Two-week long N.U.S. examinations along with college examinations of Samoa School Leaving Certificate (S.S.L.C.) and Samoa School Certificates (S.S.C.) were cut short after the first week when the Government issued state of emergency orders.

Earlier this month, the University cancelled the Foundation student graduation and postponed the vocational studies graduation until April 2020.

In a press release issued, the N.U.S Council announced that several students had contracted measles and arrived on campus, only to be sent home.
