The District Court has jailed Malele Paulo, better known as King Faipopo for seven weeks.

The decision was delivered by Judge Alalatoa Rosella Papali’i this afternoon.

King Faipopo was charged for a Facebook post he made defaming Prime Minister, Tuliaepa Dr. Sailele Malielegaoi.

The Australia-based Samoan has also been ordered by the Court to remove the “offensive post on social media”.

Judge Alalatoa delivered King Faipopo’s sentence after she denied an application from Paulo to revert his earlier guilty plea to not guilty.

She described the offence from Paulo as an "assassination" of the Prime Minister’s character.
