The residence of Fa'atamali'i Kalita Moors at Lepea was a place of celebration on Monday 10th June 2019.

The occasion was the celebration of her 90th birthday. 

Although she was bedridden and not in a good shape to have her photos taken, her life and her legacy of hard work was celebrated by friends and loved ones.

Speaking to the Samoa Observer, Mrs. Moor's daughter daughter, Ane Fiu Solomona, claimed that her mother is possibly the oldest living person in their extended family - and in Lepea.

Mrs. Moors is a mother to 12 children. She is also a grandmother, great grandmother and a great-great-grandmother.

Her family attributed her long life to being happy always and releasing stress. 

Her son-in-law, Sooalo Failelei Solomona, said Faamatamali'i

"We are the ones that have been looking after her for our whole lives and knowing her, our mother is always about being happy and releasing stress."

 Finaulelei Unasa Moors said his mother is always very careful with her food. 

"Our mother had diabetes and high blood pressure but she was able to come this far because she is always very careful with what she eats, especially now that she is older."

This was a lesson he learnt from his mother and wishes for the public to learn from too.

Mrs. Moors is originally from the village of Faga Savai'i. Her husband has passed away.

One of the members of her family, Mafuvao Puni Leasi, from Savai'i attended the celebration in Upolu.

"Whenever we have family faalavelaves happening in Savaii, she would never miss an opportunity to travel all the way to Savaii just to help out," he said.

He was thankful he was able to come across a relative like Mrs. Moors.

The celebration was well attended by her relatives - including many who had travelled to Samoa from overseas.
