Four Australian women in their 50s say they would rather be in Samoa any day than anywhere else in the world.

Rhonda Coates, Kathy Rudkins, Michelle Henderson and Janine Gleeson are frequent travellers and told Samoa Observer in an interview that Samoa is now their favourite destination in the Pacific.

"We'd take Samoa over Fiji, every day of the week. Definitely," said Rhonda.

"What we really like about it is, it's not very westernised and you stay very true to your culture and hopefully it stays that way, because then you get a really good experience," added Janine.

The group was spotted in the Savalalo flea market last Wednesday, looking for something to eat and souvenirs before checking out the museum.

Janine told of their adventures in the last few days, saying although the heat is scorching, their experience has been amazing.

"Yesterday (last Tuesday) we got taken out by Johnny and Frankie and we went to the trench and we went to where the beautiful pool in underneath the church, the sliding rocks and we also went to a big waterfall. It was amazing and tomorrow were swimming with turtles," she said with excitement. 

Michelle added that they took a trip around the island and described the experience as magnificent.

"Beautiful scenery out and we went to Lalomanu Beach; it was beautiful, and we had lunch out there and the Trench also."

While Kathy said: "It's more spectacular than we even expected."

The four ladies added that the best part about the trip to Samoa is that the local people are very friendly. 

"So we'll definitely be telling friends to come here because its a beautiful country," Janine said.

"We recommend it to all Australians," added Michelle.

Staying at the Taumeasina Island Resort, they attended a church service last Sunday and got to hear a bit of Samoa's culture through their tour guides. 

"And tomorrow we are going to the other island to swim with the turtles," said Kathy.

"I just think it's a wonderful place to come to, and the whole world should be here, I reckon," Janine said.

The energetic group of friends all work for the police and are based in Melbourne, Australia.
