The calm before the storm
The ava ceremony is the ultimate welcome anyone can extend to a visitor.
Yesterday, the Marist International Sports Week Committee hosted an ava ceremony to welcome international players, representatives from international and locals sevens teams and mangers at the Tanoa Tusitala Hotel.
In attendance were international players: The Stallions and Auckland Marist Teams as well as the team from Leone, American Samoa.
The international teams have been soaking in the Samoan sun ,after their training of course, visiting tourist hotspots.
It was the calm before the storm before the real work begins.
Today, the players will take the pitch at Apia Park for the 29th Vailima Marist International Sevens Tournament.
