New nurses boost health care
There were 52 newly registered nurses who are now ready to join the health care sector and serve the country.
The nurses were given their badges on Friday at the Human Rights Protection Party headquarter in Sogi.
After a year of orientation the nurses are now recognised as registered nurses after taking their oath.
Minister of Health, Tuitama Dr. Talalelei Tuitama reminded the nurses of the importance of having the trust of the patients.
While the career is a very demanding job, it is the nurses’ work to promote health care and be health educators to the community and their families.
“Patients need to trust nurses,” said the Minister.
“If they trust the nurse they will be more open to reveal information to you. It is often difficult for patients to divulge things that make them feel embarrassed. In health care and the Code of Ethics, the key component is trust…it is imperative to maintain their trust.”
The registered nurses were presented with flowers and leis from their friends and relatives.
