Parade ends church’s celebration

The weeklong celebration to mark the 125th year since the Seventh Day Adventist arrived in Samoa ended on Friday with a parade on Beach Road.

The parade started from the Fire and Emergency Services Authority towards the government building where the Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sa’ilele Malielegaoi congratulated the church members.

“Action speaks louder and 125 years it is a living testimony for all the good work that the church has done to build the lives of the people spiritually,” he said.

“Not only that but also through the teaching of the young people of the church to in building up of their life through faith. Today we have witnessed that the church has grown not only in Samoa but also overseas.”

“It is a must to celebrate the 125 years of overcoming many obstacles and tribulations that our forbears had gone through.”

President of the Samoa and Tokelau S.D.A Mission Pastor Kenneth Fuliese said the event is not only celebrating 125 years since the church arrive in Samoa but it is also the celebration of their World Conference.

“There have been many challenges and it wasn’t an easy road but God had guided us through and we are here today to celebrate this milestone,” he said.

“The church has grown immensely and many of our leaders that have founded the church have passed on and we are here to witness the love and kindness of God for all His guidance upon us.”

“It has been a week of celebration and it will end with the graduation of our new pastors this coming Sunday.”

The event concluded with traditional formalities where the government presented $20,000 as a gift to the church.
