Putting entries into the Samoa Observer’s Clash of the Colours draw was a daily chore for Taupau Emanuele Taupau, who wanted to win a ticket for his father.

Taupau did pretty much anything to get the Samoa Observer newspaper, and if that means being the first at the office every morning to take the paper, so be it.

According to Taupau, his father is a die-hard fan of Blues and of course it was expected that he (Taupau) would have to purchase a ticket.

“But the ticket was too expensive and so I put in a lot of entries with the goal to win a ticket for my father,” he said.

“Sure enough I am blessed and fortunate that aside from the tickets for my dad, I am able to have breakfast with Jerome Kaino, someone I grew up around.”

For Kaino this is not new for him, sharing a meal with fans, but this one is different as Taupau knows his family. They are both from Lalovaea.

“This is quite normal for us and its awesome to see some of the fans appreciate what you do and also to see the support from the Samoan people,” said Kaino.

Kaino said he was thankful to chat with Taupau over free breakfast.

“It’s quite nice to meet someone who knows your family and is quite close to your immediate family. It’s awesome, seeing people from your village continue to support you.”

Last week, two lucky fans were randomly chosen at Eveni Carruthers.

Taupau was one of the lucky winners. He had 58 entries. Taupau received two general admission tickets to the game, two Blues Eveni elei outfits. Yesterday he had breakfast with Jerome Kaino and Pauliasi Manu, Johnny Ryan and Tony Hanks at Taumeasina Island Resort.
