New digital training centre launched
Computer Services Limited officially launched the CSL Digital Training Centre, a new initiative aimed at equipping individuals, businesses and institutions with the skills needed to succeed in a rapidly changing, digital-first world.
The launch marks a significant milestone in CSL’s nearly five-year history supporting Samoa’s digital evolution. It also aligns with the company’s recent rebrand, reflecting a renewed vision and strengthened commitment to shaping the country’s digital future.
The training centre delivers practical, industry-relevant programs in areas including basic computer literacy, workplace productivity tools, cybersecurity awareness and emerging technologies. The courses are designed to be hands-on and aligned with real-world needs so participants can apply their skills immediately.
Training is delivered in partnership with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and is fully accredited by the Samoa Qualifications Authority.
Current Microsoft Office Suite courses are facilitated by New Zealand-based trainer Mike Birmingham in collaboration with Lumify Group, a provider of digital and IT training across Australia, New Zealand and Asia. The partnership brings expertise in areas such as cybersecurity, cloud computing and project management.
To ensure broader accessibility, CSL said it plans to introduce Samoan-language delivery for future courses while maintaining the same curriculum standards and international quality, aiming to keep training inclusive and culturally relevant.
Due to strong public interest, the next round of training is scheduled for May 2026, with expanded access for students, professionals and business owners.
“This is more than just a training centre. It is an investment in people, in families, and in the future of Samoa,” CSL chief executive officer David Main said. “Our focus is on empowering individuals and organisations with the knowledge and tools to succeed in a digital-first world.”
CSL said the Digital Training Centre is part of a broader vision to strengthen its role not only as a technology provider but also as a long-term partner in Samoa’s development by embedding training into its core services.
The initiative is expected to benefit a wide range of participants, including students, job seekers, professionals, small business owners and corporate teams seeking to upskill their workforce.
CSL intends to expand the Digital Training Centre to Savai‘i in the coming months to improve access to training opportunities across Samoa.
CSL said initiatives such as the training centre will play an important role in ensuring wider participation in a more connected and technology driven future.
