Faʻatuatua i le Atua Samoa ua Tasi (FAST) candidates in the Safata No.1 by-election are having a neck-to-neck race after preliminary results from the Lotofaga Methodist polling booth.

Tafafunai Saolotoga Fuimaono Mimio had 38 votes, Tunumafono Clare Tai Tin 35, Tafafunai Aialii Anapu 26 and Tuigamala Vaisilika Tuigamala 21. These four candidates are contesting under the FAST Party.

Luailepou Tikilapilesa Misi of the Human Rights Protection Party (HRPP) had only four votes at this booth.

The results from the other booths are yet to come.

The preliminary counts will be tallied on Friday for both Vaisigani No.2 and Safata No.1 by-elections
