Israel scholarships possible for Samoa
Israel is prepared to offer scholarship opportunities to Samoa, according to Alon Roth-Snir, the Ambassador of Israel to Samoa.
He told government media that Israel is prepared to provide scholarships and training opportunities for Samoans across many fields of study.
He said Israel offers a variety of courses and is willing to share its knowledge with Samoa. Areas of study include agriculture, information technology, cybersecurity, and women’s empowerment.
Students attend training centres in Israel and other countries, where they will gain new skills, knowledge, and innovations.
Last year, a Samoan woman completed an 11-month program in agriculture. She has since returned to Samoa and is working with local research institutions.
The ambassador said the knowledge and experience she gained could benefit Samoa’s agriculture sector.
“I have no doubt that we can have more and more of these kinds of exchanges,” he said. “More Samoans will come back to Samoa with the newest and most modern Israeli capabilities and help use them here in Samoa for the benefit of its people.”
He said young entrepreneurs, innovators, and educators should adopt a global perspective when developing products, building businesses, or pursuing new ideas.
“When you think globally, the perspective and the solutions look totally different,” he said, adding that local innovations may one day have global relevance.
