Lauli’i potholes remain unrepaired
Potholes along the main road at Lauli’i remain unrepaired, raising safety concerns among drivers despite repeated complaints.
A follow-up visit by the Samoa Observer to Lauli’i revealed that the potholes previously highlighted by motorists are still present, with no repair work carried out. Drivers say the poor road conditions continue to make it difficult and uncomfortable to cross the area.
The Samoa Observer has sent emails to the Land Transport Authority (LTA) regarding the condition of the road.
Driver Mikaele Lesaele, who raised concerns earlier, said the potholes pose a serious risk, particularly for emergency vehicles.
“The LTA should have a look at that area. It is pretty risky for ambulances rushing from the Aleipata and Amoamoa’a side, and my car can no longer travel at a fast speed because of the potholes at Lauli’i,” he said.
Taxi driver John Neil also expressed disappointment over the lack of action.
“It is very sad that the potholes are still there without any work being done. They are causing traffic, and it is very uncomfortable to pass through Lauli’i village,” he said.
Drivers are calling on authorities to urgently repair the road before the situation worsens.
