SWA boss resigns, awaiting cabinet decision
It has been confirmed that the Chief Executive Officer of Samoa Water Authority, Fuimaono Dominic Schwalger, has resigned.
Sources who are senior employees of the Samoa Water Authority have all confirmed this tothe Samoa Observer.
They also revealed that Fuimaono is awaiting the approval from the cabinet of his resignation.
One senior employee said one of the reasons he knows is that Fuimaono's wife is now working in Fiji, and she moved there with their children.
"I guess that's another reason for the boss's resignation," he said.
Attempts to get a comment from Fuimaono were unsuccessful.
However, Fuimaono was re-appointed to head the SWA last year, and his contract does not finish until next year.
Fuimaono's first term as CEO of SWA was in 2021, when he took over from Seugamaalii Jammie Saena.
Fuimaono is a former student of Marist Brothers Primary School and St. Joseph's College. He holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Auckland.
Fuimaono is married to the former CEO of the Land and Transport Authority, Galumalemana Titi Agnes Tutuvanu-Schwalger and has four children.
