Two more police officers have been suspended for allegedly leaking information to drug dealers about police raids, said Prime Minister La'aulialemalietoa Leuatea Schmidt on Monday.

He said that despite being long-serving members of the Samoa Police, the two had betrayed the ministry and the government.

La'aulialemalietoa said these police officers forwarded a warrant for one of the raids that he signed to a drug lord.

"As I said before, a police officer was terminated before Christmas for leaking information about drug raids to the suspects, and this is a big No," Laaulialemalietoa said.

"Whoever is betraying the government, there's no use for him to live; that person is already dead."

The Prime Minister said this is very dangerous and put the lives of police officers at risk if they raided a house or a place, and those suspects already knew about it.

"I've told the acting commissioner to suspend these two and do investigations, and I will publicise their names and photos next week," he said.

The Prime Minister La'auli elaborated, saying no police can escape betraying the ministry and the government.

"If these two are confirmed to have committed a crime, they should be charged, terminated and locked up," he added.
