Fiji Airways has announced new direct flights between the Gold Coast and Nadi, Fiji, expanding its Australian network with thrice-weekly services set to begin in June 2026.

The airline said the new route will launch on Thursday, 11 June 2026, operating on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays using the Boeing 737 MAX8 aircraft.

Flights between Gold Coast Airport and Nadi International Airport will operate in just over three hours and add about 53,000 seats to the market each year.

Fiji Airways said the service will provide faster, more convenient travel for the Gold Coast community to Fiji while offering Fijians a quicker route to the Gold Coast.

To mark the launch, the national carrier is offering special introductory return Lite fares from Fiji to the Gold Coast starting from 799 Fiji dollars, available until 31 December, 2025.

Fiji Airways said the fares can be booked through its website or participating travel agents, apply to select travel dates and are available until sold out, with terms and conditions applying.

Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Paul Scurrah said the new Gold Coast–Nadi route reflects the airline’s ongoing commitment to the Australian market.

He said the Gold Coast is a natural fit for Fiji Airways, citing its tourism industry, business activity, major global events and growing population and infrastructure.

Scurrah said the service will give Gold Coast travellers a faster direct link to Fiji for holidays, family visits and business while providing Fijians and international travellers easier access to the Gold Coast.

Queensland Airports Limited CEO Amelia Evans said Gold Coast Airport welcomed the new route, saying it strengthens the long-standing bond between Fiji and the Gold Coast.

Queensland Tourism Minister Andrew Powell said the Crisafulli Government is supporting the route through Destination 2045’s Connecting Queensland Fund.

Powell said the route will open new pathways through the United States and Canada via Nadi and is expected to deliver a 51 million dollar boost to the local economy while supporting more than 100 direct jobs.

The Gold Coast becomes Fiji Airways’ seventh Australian destination, with the airline saying it looks forward to welcoming travellers from June 2026.
