For 16-year-old Glory Efaraima Fiti, the journey to graduation and being the dux of Church College Pesega has been filled with challenges, tears, and moments of deep faith. The tough year tested her strength more than she ever expected.
“There were a lot of times that I cried,” she admitted.
“I’ve failed more than I would like to say, but God will provide—He has a way.”
This year’s theme, “Looking Unto Christ,” became her guiding light. Even when discouragement came from teachers or staff, Glory found strength in the love of her friends, her family, and her faith.
Now, as she stands on the brink of graduation—as the Valedictorian—she feels renewed. “I’m over it, it’s done, but I’m graduating. It feels like I’m opening a new chapter, and I’m really happy.”
At the heart of her success are her strongest supporters: her parents, Tasesa and Rosemarie. The family once struggled in New Zealand, but her mother held tightly to a dream—that her daughters would attend a Church college. That hope pushed them to move again, work harder, and sacrifice for a better future.
“My mom and dad have worked their butts off from the beginning. They’ve been with me every step of the way.”
Raised in Vaitele-Uta with deep family roots in Sili, Glory carries her identity proudly. And as she closes one chapter, she prepares for another: beginning her studies through BYU-Pathway, with hopes of later attending BYU–Hawaii, just like her sister.
Her journey was never easy, but it was shaped by faith, family, and perseverance. Today, Glory Efaraima Fiti stands as a shining example of resilience and God’s guiding hand.
