Paddles named Samoa’s best at World Culinary Awards
Paddles Restaurant was officially named Samoa’s Best Restaurant 2025 by the World Culinary Awards.
According to its owners, this is an achievement that celebrates over two decades of passion, family, and flavour.
In a statement, the restaurant said this international recognition marks a proud moment for both the Rossi family and the team behind one of Samoa’s most beloved dining experiences.
What began in 2004 as a family-run restaurant along Apia’s waterfront has grown into a benchmark for hospitality, quality, and authenticity, blending the heart of Samoa with the soul of Italy.
Giovanni Rossi, co-owner and son of the restaurant’s founders, said the award came as an unexpected but humbling surprise.
“We never chase recognition; our focus has always been on serving food made with care and sincerity. To see Paddles recognised on a world stage is something very special for all of us, and for Samoa,” said Rossi.
The World Culinary Awards, held this year in Sardinia, Italy, honoured excellence in global gastronomy. Each year, industry professionals and the public vote to celebrate the best restaurants, chefs, and culinary destinations around the world. Paddles joins an elite list of international winners who have demonstrated exceptional standards of food and service.
“At Paddles, guests can experience a menu that pays homage to both the Mediterranean and the Pacific — from handmade pastas and seafood risottos to locally caught fish and signature dishes like Mama Rossi’s Oka and Blueberry Margarita. Every plate tells a story of tradition, family, and a love for the craft,” said the restaurant in the statement.
This award adds to a growing list of accolades for the restaurant, which also holds Tripadvisor’s #1 ranking for Best Restaurant in Samoa (2025) and has been featured as a top dining destination by both Samoa Pocket Guide and Travellers’ Choice Awards.
“This recognition belongs to our team, our loyal guests, and to Samoa itself. We’re proud to represent our island through food and hospitality, and we’ll continue to serve every meal with the same warmth and love that started this journey,” said Rossi.
