Auapa'au is Speaker

Former Deputy Speaker Auapa’au Mulipola Aloitafua took his oath on Tuesday morning as the Speaker of the Parliament of Samoa. Afamasaga Leone Mati was sworn in as the Deputy Speaker.
Both were selected by the Faatuatua i le Atua Samoa ua Tasi (FAST) party at the swearing-in of members of parliament at the Multipurpose Gym in Tuanaimato.
No further appointments or cabinet roles have been announced at this time.
The swearing-in ceremony officially started at 9.30 am; however, spectators and supporters were at the venue as early as 6.30 am.
Tuanaimato is currently a hive of activity with people and vehicle traffic. The Samoa Police have been kept busy from this morning as they attempt to do their best to control traffic and avoid congestions.
