Samoan and Tokelau singer Vaniah Toloa has just released a heartfelt new single titled “Nana”, and it's already resonating deeply with fans.

The song was uploaded to his YouTube channel only two days ago and has quickly gained attention, with over 17,000 views at the time of writing.

Blending modern beats with a touching melody, “Nana” showcases the emotional and musical style that Vaniah is widely known for. The lyrics express deep love and appreciation for his grandmother, highlighting the special bond they shared throughout his life. Fans say the song reflects the unique sound and sincerity that have made Vaniah a favourite across the Pacific and beyond.

In the song, “Nana” means grandmother. Vaniah refers to her as his mother, explaining that no one else ever loved or cared for him the way she did. He recalls how she would spoil him and protect him, even confronting village chiefs and neighbours when he came home in tears.

Nana is not the first song Vaniah has written for his grandmother. His earlier hit “E Le Galo Oe”, which means “You Are Not Forgotten,” is also believed to have been dedicated to her. In his lyrics, he shares how her love and guidance helped shape the man he is today.

Vaniah Toloa was born in Fakaofo, Tokelau, and raised in Faleasiu, Samoa. From a young age, he dedicated himself to music that promotes love, peace, respect, happiness, and faith in God. He released his debut album Tukua in 2005, and his sweet vocals and meaningful messages quickly won over fans across the Pacific. Since then, he has released four more albums, including well-known songs like “E Le Galo Oe” and “Samoa e Maopoopo Mai,” which were his popular items along with many other songs he wrote in previous years.

With “Nana,” Vaniah continues to share his heart through music reminding us of the power of family, the beauty of unconditional love, and the importance of never forgetting those who cared for us the most.
