Independent secures Vaisigano 2 seat

Independent candidate Motuopua'a Seve Papalii has secured victory for the Vaisigano 2 seat after the official count on Monday night.
He has 409 votes altogether after the final count, with Tagaloa Leilua Tupou Afa of the Fa'atuatua i le Atua Samoa ua Tasi (FAST) having 193 votes.
The other three candidates, Su'a Lesa Timoteo of FAST had 166 votes; former Minister of Health, Valasi Tafito Selesele, 135 votes altogether and Alopopo Siafausa Matefeo of the Human Rights Protection Party (HRPP) 76 votes.
The total number of valid votes recorded for Vaisigano 2 is 979, with four informal votes.
