Samoa is celebrating another proud moment as 17-year-old Seine Stowers has won GOLD at the Commonwealth Weightlifting Championships in Ahmedabad, India.

Competing in the Women’s 77kg category, Seine not only took the gold medal but also set a new Commonwealth Youth record, a new Oceania Junior record, and a new Oceania Senior record.

She also came close to making history by attempting a World Youth Record with a 107kg snatch.

This year has been a big one for Seine. In May, she competed at the International Weightlifting Federation Youth and Junior Championship in Lima, Peru, where she won two silver medals and one bronze in the Women’s 76kg category.

As of July 2025, Seine also stamped her mark at the Pacific Mini Games, where she claimed gold in the Snatch (77kg), Clean & Jerk (77kg) with a total of 77kg.

At only 17 years old, Seine Stowers is proving she is one of Samoa’s brightest stars in sports. With her talent and determination, the world can expect even greater things from her in the future.
