The caretaker government has declared this Saturday to be a national clean-up day in the fight against dengue. The cabinet approved mobilising the entire country to remove mosquito breeding sites and improve environmental hygiene.

The decision was taken on Wednesday.

As dengue cases continue to rise, the caretaker government has called for a united national effort.

Families, communities and villages have been urged to work together to ensure all mosquito breeding places are destroyed.

Health experts have stated that for dengue, prevention is the best cause of action.

More details later.
