Deacon pleads not guilty
A senior deacon of the Catholic Church, Fred Wulf, has pleaded not guilty to taking the life of a man in a road accident.
Wulf appeared in the Supreme Court on Monday. Fetu Lagaaia, appearing under the instructions of Precious Chang, informed the court that Wulf was denying the charge.
Justice Fepuleai Ameperosa Roma has set the hearing date for the week commencing 9 February 2026.
Wulf is facing one charge of dangerous driving or overcrowding of a vehicle and one charge of dangerous driving causing death.
The incident occurred at Falealupo on 20 May 2025, where the defendant allegedly drove a vehicle that struck the victim and as a result killed the victim.
Wulf was granted bail as he awaits trial in February of next year.
