The annual Miss Samoa Pageant will now take place from 27 October to 9 November 2025, after the Samoa Tourism Authority announced the cancellation of the Teuila Festival due to the general elections.

The pageant is the highlight of the Teuila Festival; however, it will now take place as a separate event.

The organising committee said the registrations for eligible contestants will open in September.

The postponement comes as Samoa prepares for a snap general election in August. While the national pageant is on hold, other regional and international competitions are proceeding as planned.

Current Miss Samoa and Miss Pacific Islands 2024–2025, Litara Ieremia-Allan, is currently in Tonga, where she is attending the 2024 Heilala Festival by official invitation.

Meanwhile, the Miss Samoa New South Wales (NSW) pageant is moving forward with five contestants competing for the 2025 crown.

In Brisbane, the Miss Samoa Queensland Pageant is scheduled to take place on Saturday, July 12, in Carina. This year's competition will feature two contestants. Laurissa Pona-Baker and Larona Tivoli, vying for the crown and the chance to succeed the outgoing Miss Samoa Queensland 2024-2025, Sootuli Ausage Pepe.

In New Zealand, Paulina Tapua’ī-Soti has been crowned Miss Samoa New Zealand 2025–2026, representing the Samoan community across Aotearoa.

Elsewhere in the Pacific, pageant season remains active. While some events are just getting started, others have wrapped up. One of the latest to conclude is the Miss American Samoa Pageant, which crowned Tofoipūpū Unutoa as Miss American Samoa 2025–2026.

Winners from these regional competitions are most likely to represent their respective communities at the rescheduled Miss Samoa Pageant in October.
