National University of Samoa (NUS) students reacted with a mix of relief, gratitude, and motivation as the Semester One provisional results were posted.

While the academic journey continues, many took this moment to reflect and prepare for the challenges ahead in Semester Two.

Jadon Savea, a student in the Faculty of Science in Climate Change, shared how nervous he was when checking his results.

“I feel like I wasn’t ready for my results. I was so scared, my heart was pounding, it almost came out!” he said with a laugh.

“But guess what? I passed. I give thanks to the Lord, the Almighty. I couldn’t have done it without Him.”

Now looking ahead, Jadon is aiming higher.

“I want to keep going for the better and do more than this. I want to get better marks than what I have right now.”

A student from the Faculty of Business and Entrepreneurship was surprised but grateful for her results.

“I’m surprised; my marks were unexpected. But yeah, I feel great that I passed. Vi’ia Le Ali’i.”

Her plan for the next semester is focused and determined. “Make a change, do better, lock in.”

Another student from the Faculty of Science shared similar feelings. “I’m alright with it. It’s not what I expected, but it’s better than not passing,” she said.

With renewed determination for Semester Two, she added, “I want to do better, get better grades, choose the right friends to evolve with, so I don’t get distracted from focusing on my school assignments.”

A fourth student from the same faculty reflected on his performance with gratitude. “It was alright. Some marks I was not fine with, but overall, it was all good. I thank God for His guidance upon His kids.”

His mindset for the upcoming semester is clear: “To aim higher for higher results than what I’ve got.”

Despite their different experiences and faculties, a common theme was clear among NUS students was a deep sense of thankfulness and an eagerness to improve. As they head into Semester Two, the focus is on staying disciplined, learning from past challenges, and aiming higher both academically and personally.
