It was a swift move by the police as they nabbed three men outside the courthouse in Mulinuu, who were suspected of selling narcotics.

According to eyewitness accounts from the courthouse, police moved in teams and cornered the three men at the back of the courthouse, close to where the prisoner entrance gate is.

Samoa Observer photojournalist Junior S Ami was at the scene. He said the information he gathered suggested that the three men were wanted by the police, and after it was confirmed, the police moved in and made the arrest.

It is believed that drugs believed to be methamphetamine were found on the suspects and also inside their vehicles.

It is believed that the police, after the arrest of the three men, headed to Aleisa, where a drug raid was conducted. No information about any arrests or drug finds has been made yet by the police. It is believed that a large police team made the alleged raid.

Meanwhile, the Samoa Police has issued a reminder to those who possess firearms to make arrangements to renew their licences if it has expired.

Police in recent months have discovered illegal firearms during drug raids, and some have even raised concerns about their safety.
