June needs more help
Help has started flowing in for a nine-year-old cancer patient, whose parents want to save her by taking her to India for treatment, however, more is needed.
June Uelese has already lost a leg because of the cancer.
June’s mother, Otila Taiulu, was grateful for the help that had come through. Mrs Taiulu turned to this newspaper for help earlier this month.
Feeling grateful for the love shown, Mrs Taiulu acknowledged the three good Samaritans who have already donated financial assistance.
One of them is a prominent businessman in Samoa, another a church minister and a well-known high chief from Faleata.
"I can't thank these people enough for their kind hearts and the love shown to June, thank you very much," she said.
"Your love has not gone unnoticed; may God bless you all tenfold."
June Uelese was admitted to the Tupua Tamasese Meaole Hospital in April this year and was diagnosed with cancer. Her leg was amputated with the assurance from the doctors that this would stop the cancer from spreading to other parts of her body.
Mrs Taiulu said that's why she agreed to the amputation, but sadly, this didn't stop the cancer from spreading.
Currently, Mrs Taiulu said they are now preparing everything to take her daughter to India.
She said the financial assistance given will now help with visa applications.
Mrs Taiulu said she is now looking at ways to finance their airfares.
"Whatever you can give, we would appreciate it with grateful hearts," Mrs Taiulu said.
