The Congregational Christian Church of Samoa has once again agreed to start leasing land at Malua after putting it off for years.

The church, during its Annual Conference this year, debated on this matter as requested by the Development Committee for the church to consider leasing these lands again. The church has agreed, but only for the parishes of the church and the youth groups.

In the past years, the lands at Malua were leased to other people, but were put on hold because of disputes over the lease and church properties being stolen and damage to the land and other property.

These lands are near villages such as Saleimoa, Leulumoega and Utualii.

The Development Committee requested that the lease would help get extra income for the church in the future.

The lease, as stated in the agreement, is only for farming and building houses on these lands is prohibited.

The leasing of these lands will now be available to different parishes and youth groups of the church on conditions that have been passed during the annual conference this year.
