Police car stoned

The stoning of police cars has led to additional charges on one of the four accused who were arrested during a police drug bust at Leone last Friday.

Police Commissioner Auapaau Logoitino Filipo said one of the four suspects allegedly threw stones at a police car during the drug raid.

The four men were caught at a home in Leone where police found methamphetamine and also illegal weapons, namely pistols.

They each have been charged with possession of illegal weapons and ammunition and possession of narcotics.

They will appear in the Supreme Court on 13 May for mention.

In the meantime, Auapaau said this raid is part of police mission to make sure Samoa drug free by raiding all villages that are suspected to have people selling drugs or in possession of hard drugs, especially meth.

The police are also continuing a probe into an alleged drug ring involving two supermarkets that operate accommodation facilities.

Eight people were rounded up from the Princessa in Motootua and Siusega over a week ago. They were allegedly selling and using drugs.
