The Congregational Christian Church of Samoa plans to stop the waste of money on the E.F.K.S TV.

There is a proposed plan to sell the network.

Figures obtained by the Samoa Observer shows that since the TV Network opened, the church has made a loss of up to $3.6million in its operation.

The issue is expected to be tabled and discussed before the Annual General Assembly sometime this week for formal approval before taking any further action.

The ‘E.F.K.S. Television’ was launched in 2013 with a share capital of $1,841,271.

At the launch, former General Secretary Reverend Dr. Iutisone Salevao said E.F.K.S Television and Radio Broadcasting's initial focus was on youth.

Rev. Salevao revealed the need to address the problems faced by youth and hoped the programmes would help them choose a better road in life.

Both media are co-funded by the Council for World Mission in Singapore and London.

With the biggest number of adherents in the country Congregational Christian Church of Samoa (C.C.C.S) has spread overseas with congregations established wherever significant Samoan communities have formed.

Over 50 percent of the population belongs to C.C.C.S which also has congregations in Australia, New Zealand and United States – and missionaries who serve around the world.
