Miss House of Wakanda June Catriona Peseta is an advocate for climate change and the environment and will champion that during the Miss Fa'afafine Samoa pageant on Friday.

June is 28-years-old and hails from Sinamoga and represents the African region. June is an active person who loves to play netball and has claimed the Best Player award for their Marist Netball Club team.

In an interview, June said it had been a dream for her to participate in the Miss Samoa Faafafine Association pageant.

“Joining this year’s pageant has always been a dream not only to showcase my talents and personality but also my identity as a faafafine. I used to watch this pageant and I instilled it in me that one day I will do it, and here I am,” June said.

“My role model for participating is former Miss SFA, Leon Soonalole. Her reign was well done. Such a humble, lovely and cared about everyone in our community.”

June pushes for more actions to tackle climate change as Samoa is one of the Pacific Islands vulnerable to climate change. June's preparations were running smoothly.

“We need to do something to fight the negative impacts of climate change affecting our shores. But for my preparations, I trust my team and they trust me. So, everything is going well. I want to make a stand on this pageant to let them know that we are important,” said June.
