The woman behind the Las Vegas Pacific Fashion Show Virginia Toalepai says the event on Friday was a success for local designers, models and everyone involved.

She said the fashion show at the Multipurpose Gym, Tuanaimato exceeded her expectations.

The event was packed with families, friends, and partners who were there to witness the designers' work. There were also live bands and performances by Lina's Poly-X Dance Academy.

Toalepai mentioned she was impressed with the young designers and how innovative the people behind the clothing lines were and it was evident when they showcased it at the fashion show.

"To me, I was very impressed. This is the first time experience for the six competitors that came. I was very impressed with how competitive they were and how far they went. Even though it's their first time. One of the requirements was that they had to have 15 looks, and some of them came out with more than 15, like they did 20 or 25," she said.

"Not only that, the models themselves, because a lot of them were first timers so the experience and the platform that was offered, the models came all out and confidently built, I saw that. That was one of the main things that I was looking for, is to help our youth and our young people gain motivation and also the confidence to be the size that they are."

According to Toalepai, it was more than what she expected, and she was impressed with the different looks and the different designs.

She said designs were way ahead of time and something not seen in Samoa. She said the details on the designs were something that is not normally worn in Samoa.

She confirmed that she was inviting the designers to expand their talent and help them move to the next level by taking the winners to the US.

"The door is open to everyone but especially to the winners, and people that took the show last night. I have not yet confirmed who will be going because all of this was last night. We will speak with the winners," she said.

She understands that for some local designers going to the US is a big step.

The highlight for Virginia was the young designers such as Tara Closet who is 22. She said it was amazing to see the designers coming out of their shells and showcasing their work.

She acknowledged everyone who came out to support them and believes in their vision, she hopes that their next show will also be a success.
