International leaders, thousands of delegates and the millions watching the world over witnessed the amazing talent Samoa had when the theme song for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting was sung.

When asked about the theme song, composer Tanuvasa Fa'amanatu Solomona responded that it was composed following the CHOGM's concept.

"The lyrics, "Be strong to protect our Commonwealth and our future, remember us as you live through your time, we are the future of tomorrow's generation," also featured the children's voices," he said.

"The song's title, "Save it, Share it," suggests that you should save it now and spread the word about it later.

"The words of the song are in line with the subject for the next generation. May today's young people continue to be wealthy so they can transfer it to future generations."

According to Tanuvasa, the song was lengthy, but they trimmed it down to three minutes and 44 seconds.

"I express gratitude to Malua and Piula Colleges for their assistance in singing the song and to the students at Vaivase Primary School for giving them a voice in the future" he said.

"Benjamin Solomona and Eliziuritabeth Fanueli, who sang the duet for the theme song conveyed the most crucial message for CHOGM, deserve special recognition.

"In essence, the song is about sharing and preserving it for tomorrow or for years to come."

Tanuvasa shared it took some time to come up with a song that would be original and portray not only Samoa but all of the Commonwealth.

He said they were not initially sure if the song would be given the green light but once the Commonwealth gave them the nod they started working on it.

It was hard work and there were frustrations along the way, but in the end, a combined effort from everyone involved has the world mersmerised.
