Airport flooding caught on video
Trenches have been dug up on the newly finished apron and runway near the recently opened regional terminal at the Faleolo International Airport.
A video taken during the heavy downpour shows flooded tarmac and trenches, which were constructed to prevent the rising waters from reaching the terminal.
The regional airport and the extension of the apron have cost the government $25 million in total.
A cohort of four contractors did the work on the extension of the apron and runway.
No official comment has been made yet on the incident on Saturday.
