ANZ Regional Executive for the Pacific, Sarah Stubbings, and ANZ Samoa Country Head Sucharu Tandon will represent ANZ at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).

They will be highlighting the bank’s commitment to supporting the economic development of the Pacific region.

The week-long event will be one of the biggest events held in Samoa for 60 years and brings together delegations from 56 nations from Africa, the Caribbean and Americas, Europe, Asia, and the Pacific. It will be the first CHOGM to be held in a Pacific Small Island Developing State.

Ms Stubbings will represent ANZ as part of the New Zealand Business Delegation. Ms Stubbings and Mr Tandon will be part of the Australia Bankers Association Delegation and represent ANZ at various roundtable facilitation sessions.

Ms Stubbings said ANZ’s participation at CHOGM underscored ANZ’s commitment to supporting the economic development of the Pacific region.

“This significant event marks a milestone in fostering stronger economic and business ties within the Pacific region. We look forward to being part of these delegations and exploring new opportunities for collaboration and growth in Samoa and across the Pacific,” she said.

ANZ Samoa will also have a booth at the CHOGM Trade Village 2024 throughout the event.

“As an international bank which has operated in Samoa for over 30 years, our participation is a testament to the strong ANZ presence in 13 Commonwealth countries, including Samoa, Australia, and New Zealand,” Mr Tandon said.

“We are excited to engage with local businesses and stakeholders to drive mutual prosperity.”
