Tuaopepe is new Consular in Sydney
The Cabinet has approved the appointment of Tuaopepe Dr. Cam Wendt as the new Consular for Samoa in Sydney Australia for the next three years.
A Cabinet Directive confirmed the appointment of Tuaopepe who is currently the Assistant Chief Executive Officer (A.C.E.O.) of Governance at the Ministry of Public Enterprises.
Tuaopepe was contacted by the Samoa Observer for a comment but declined until he received actual confirmation of the appointment from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
According to the Cabinet Directive, the new Consular will hold office for three years and an additional three years in the position.
It noted the starting salary of WST$94,626 and is entitled to several other allowances.
Tuaopepe is from the villages of Gagaifo Lefaga and Alafua and takes over the position from former Consular Auseugaefa Poloma Komiti.
He previously worked as the Manager in the Public Sector Improvement Facility at the Ministry of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.
The new Consular was also a Manager in the Facility Management Unit for the Australian High Commission and had worked at the M.F.A.T. in the past.
Tuaopepe is not new in diplomatic office work as he was a former second secretary at the Samoa High Commission in Wellington.
He holds a Masters in Foreign Affairs and Trade from Monash University and studied for his Bachelor in History and Polices and Administration at the University of the South Pacific.
