The Samoa Police, Prison and Correction Services (S.P.P.C.S.) will kickstart the 13 Days of Christmas programme at the Congregational Christian Church Samoa (C.C.C.S.) Vaitele-Uta next Tuesday.

This year marks 26 years since the popular annual programme started in 1997.

S.P.P.C.S. posted on its social media official account confirming their participation in this year's programme with hundreds others already expecting to participate and join in lifting the spirit of Christmas.

"Yes, it's that time of year again, and our dedicated members are ready to come together for the Annual 13 Days to Christmas Programme. This event has become an integral part of our community, as it allows us to celebrate the season and spread joy through outstanding performances," S.P.P.C.S posted.

"Join us next week as we gather to witness the culmination of these preparations. Prepare to be entertained by a range of performances that will showcase the creativity and passion of our talented members. From traditional carols to contemporary interpretations, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

"As we eagerly await the birth of Jesus Christ, this performance serves as a reminder of the true significance of the holiday season. It's a time to celebrate love, peace, and unity, and this program provides us with a beautiful opportunity to do so."

S.P.P.C.S is urging members of the public to join the celebration of Christmas which commences on the 12th of this month and goes on for 13 days until Christmas.

The annual programme is known over the years its' been in operation as one of the most cheerful programmes of the month of December in celebration of Christmas where everyone is invited free of charge.

The programme is normally live streamed on TV1 Samoa television channel.

In 2019, the church pulled the plug on the Christmas programme as the deadly measles epidemic wreaked havoc on Samoans' preparations for the festive season.

The cancellation continued on to 2020 due to the widespread of the COVID-19 pandemic followed by the national and international lockdown.

In 2021, the programme resumed but with a twist, only choirs with limited numbers participated by performing a few songs to celebrate Christmas but were not in full mode as before.

Everything went back to normal last year as the borders reopened and the COVID-19 spread eased.
