Police seeks assistance in locating lost passport and elderly man from Asau

Samoa's Police, Prisons and Corrections Services have appealed to the public for their assistance in locating a lost passport belonging to a female tourist from New Zealand. 

According to the statement from Police on Statement, the matter was reported to the ministry by Ms. Luvei Helen Mason Clarke on Friday morning. 

The brief notice from police says the passport was lost "somewhere in the vicinity of Moto'otua and Malifa, possibly along the sidewalk or shopping areas."

"We kindly ask all members of the community to keep an eye out for this passport and report any sightings or information to the nearest Police Station or on phone 22222," the notice reads. 

"Any assistance or information provide will be much appreciated and will help up in our efforts to locate the passport and ensure Ms. Clarke's safe return home."

On a different matter, Police during the weekend appealed to members of the public for their assistance in locating a 77-year-old male from the Asau. 

Tautaifau Kipaoa Fa'avesi, according to the report from Police had been missing from his home since Friday. 

"It is alleged he went missing at around 9am in the morning (Friday, 14 April 2023). He was last seen leaving home for his plantation wearing a black stripe shirt and a black ie.

"If anyone has any information regarding Tautaifau’s whereabouts, please contact a nearby Police Station or call the number 22222."
