Bina Butta and family visit Samoa

A Samoan artist who is making waves on the international music scene, Robina Brown-Fainga'a, is in the country with her husband Maka Fainga'a and their two children.
Better known by her stage name "Bina Butta", Mrs. Fainga'a has been posting updates of their trip to Samoa on her Instagram account since their arrival.
This included stopping at her family home in Lotopa where her late grandmother is buried for her children to meet her relatives.
Attempts by the Samoa Observer to get an interview with the famous singer on their trip to Samoa have been unsuccessful.
However, Bina Butta has confirmed on her social media posts that while in Samoa for this month, she will not be performing for her home country.
"To everyone asking if I'll be performing in Samoa this month, unfortunately not! But we will sooner than later, big stops for 2023."
Her viral hit song "Lady Love" which she sang with her music producer brother, Kennyon Brown has hit the charts on TikTok.
The song released by Bina Butta in September last year is about a personal story of triumph, going through having a child and the love a mother and the family has for a newborn into the family. It was written by Bina Butta and her brother Kennyon, who produced the track with help from DJ Noiz plus musicians Chunkyluv & Ben Sekali.
Since its release the song took off in New Zealand, Australia, the Pacific and USA and has amassed over 15 million streams in 6 months and recently was certified gold by the New Zealand Charts.
In August this year Bina Butta was nominated Best International Artist for the song "Lady Love" in this year's Pacific Music Awards. Her other popular songs are "Blessing" and "One call Away".
In a previous interview with The Coconet Tv, Bina Butta said most of her songs are inspired by her loved ones, especially her husband and children, Foketi Christie and MJ Taumalata Fine Fainga'a.
Music runs deep within the Brown family, according to Bina Butta, who said they were raised in the church by her parents with her mother being a choir director and her father and brothers singing in the choir. That was where her love for music was born and she has now hit the international music scene.
Speaking about her hit song, "Lady Love", Bina Butta said that she did not expect the song to go viral.
"I didn't expect lady love to blow up. It was shocking that our people were relating to our song."
She also revealed that one of her favorite songs is "Blessing" as it symbolises her role as a mother to her two half-Samoan and Tongan children.
