United Nations' Green Climate Fund responds to reported allegations

I write in reference to your re- cent article “UN project in corruption probe”, dated 08/10/2021.

Your article states that “allegations of fraud and corruption have dogged the fund for over much of the past ten years since its foundation” – a statement you write as being supported by a December 2020 Financial Times report.

As you will no doubt have seen from the FT article you cite, it does not make this assertion in respect of GCF and your reporting should be corrected to reflect this. Further- more, the statement that you introduce immediately after the reference to the FT refers to your original email, as my reply below clearly indicates, not to the FT article.

To reiterate, the Green Climate Fund has zero tolerance for any form of fraud or corruption. We take any and all reports seriously and investigate each thoroughly.

Kind Regards, Simon
