A business idea

Dear Editor,

Here’s an idea for a small business. A bike rental shop for tourist wanting to bike around the island, another idea with this would be to offer packaged picnics for these bike renters to take on their ride.

Some tourist book biking adventures, these could be easy to very difficult rides.

Or even a bike rental and repair shop in some villages from loans guaranteed oversees. This would make it easier for locals to get around and cheaper than cars. What about a guaranteed loan for a fishing boat?

A fish delivery truck to villages inland? What about a scooter rental company? Do mushrooms grow in Samoa? If so, Samoa could develop a mushroom farm on customary land like the fish farm idea. Mushrooms are very healthy and prevent, arthritis, cancer, and diabetes. A craft co-op on some artist families customary land with only Samoan handmade crafts allowed.

This is better than a long lease to some foreign interests looking to take the land. Owned and operated by the people who make the crafts. The artists pay a share price in the shop to make and sell their crafts at the craft co-op. Their share purchase gives them a vote in what artist can or cannot set up shop in the co-op. No cheap crap from China allowed. The people making the crafts could actually be doing their crafts right onsite.

Artists painting pictures, making tapas cloth, carving those beautiful bowls, etc...on site. Then other nearby families could set up ice cream shops, coffee shops or whatever for the people coming to the artist co-op. The cruise ships could send the tourists to the craft co-op. Anyway just some ideas.
