Samoa Cycling

Dear Editor,

I'd like to clarify some information regarding my role with Samoa Cycling in recent articles in your newspaper.

I continue to serve the sport of cycling in Samoa as President of the Cycling Federation of Samoa (CFS) also known as Samoa Cycling. We are currently under review with MCIL as to our status as a federation.

Samoa Cycling holds the rights for cycling in Samoa under the UCI, the international federation and no one else. We became a member of the UCI in September 2019 and remain so.

Samoa Cycling is very active with two clubs currently, Town Clock Racing in Apia and the Itu o Tane Club on Savai'i.

Samoa Cycling recently returned from the Oceania Cycling Mountain Bike (MTB) Championships that were held last month in Brisbane where our women's team of Patricia Brooks and Maria Brooks won silver and bronze in the MTB Pacific Cup.

Samoa Cycling is looking forward to supporting the sellout Tour of Samoa in August. We are also preparing to send our mixed relay team to the UCI Road World Championships in Zurich in September.

Check out our Facebook Page and follow us.

Sincerely,

Seti Afoa

President Samoa Cycling
