Between the Lines

BARRED

A television journalist was blocked from entering a courtroom on Tuesday morning. The police officer told the lady that no media was allowed. The matter was an open court matter and a complaint was filed with a senior officer.

COMPLAINANT

A complainant residing overseas is openly discussing court matters on broadcast forums. A week ago, a judge warned that the complainant would not be allowed to dictate court proceedings. Could this mean the complainant may have to come physically to Samoa to give evidence?

IN TIME

Less than a month remains for the planned opening of the new Legislative Assembly Office and extensions to the parliament. Work is in full progress, but people are questioning if it will be ready in time.

SPOTTED

Spotted on Tuesday were members of the cabinet inspecting the improvements to a heritage building in Mulinuu. The same building that is rumoured to become the new headquarters for the ruling party.

PARKING

There may be a need to increase parking spaces at the new market. It seems most of the spaces are being occupied by the vendors, leaving customers to park far. Not very customer-friendly.
