Has the ministry responsible for government vehicles folded under pressure? The government vehicles under spotlight for wrongful use continue to be used as they were. So much for following what the actual policy states.

SPENDING

More reports of actions by Pacific island nations to cut costs to prepare for fuel price increases and shortages. Meanwhile, back at home, $5 million is being dished out for a three-day celebration. No contingency plans have been announced.

APPROPRIATION

The finances for the June celebrations were not announced in the last budget. Where is the money coming from? District councils, or is there an appropriation bill to be tabled?

CASH POWER

Some homes claim that they seem to be paying more than the usual for their cash power. One family said $50 used to last them a week while recently they have been paying $70 and have not added any new appliances.

QUARTERS

Travel and distance are becoming an issue for many emergency and essential service employees. Many are hurdling inside their workplace to avoid the travel. Living quarters that accommodate immediate families could be an investment.
