Between the Lines
BIRTHDAY
A happy belated birthday to the leader of the nation. Cabinet ministers took time out to sing him a birthday song in the cabinet office and it was made available on social media for everyone to see. It was a nice cake too.
ACCIDENT
A government vehicle damaged by an accident was noticed at a local garage. The accident took place in February. It is also ironic that there were vehicle changes in some ministries during this time.
SCHOOL MONEY
The financial year is coming to an end, and the school’s money is yet to be received by the school. There is no advice on how the money will be distributed through the district council. Wasn’t it much simpler when the ministry responsible was giving the money?
FREE SCHOOL
Could the $32.25 million given as a handout be used to pay school fees for all students? Making education free for primary school students would be a good start. By now, the government must realise that the $150 was not used for school.
VENDING
Children are still selling things on the streets. It is the holidays, but even during school terms, there are a bunch that can be seen selling. Some are scared to return home if they have not finished selling their products, fearing punishment at home.
