Between the Lines
BUSES
Bus services will play a vital role on Friday when the nation heads to polling booths, and it is therefore important that bus owners and drivers do their part in delivering a free and fair election. And make some money as well.
NOT SMART
Keyboard warriors may think they are sneaking around the law to still campaign, not realising that every time their candidate appears on social media after the end of the campaign, he or she will get charged as many times.
ELECTION ALCOHOL
People can still enjoy a beer and have a barbecue on election day. All they need to do is buy it in advance. Problem solved.
POLICING
With most government officials, including the police, busy during polling day, would there be anyone policing the ban on alcohol sales? Many are asking if there was a need to ban alcohol sales.
BUSINESSES
Some resorts have closed their premises to day visitors for the public holiday. They should have a prior-day booking to visit these places. Meanwhile, some businesses have put up notices saying they would be open on Thursday.
BINGO
While many things will be closed on Thursday and Friday, the bingo games will not be. Parents just make sure that children are being looked after.
