T.C.L. Air condition experts from New Zealand have conducted a day and a half training to certify the Island Rock team.

Director for Aavis Air Conditioning Ltd, Anukar Prasad and Key Counsel Commercial manager David Clark from New Zealand told the Sunday Samoan that the training was to certify the team in installation servicing and repairs for T.C.L. air condition units.

“We are with T.C.L. Air cons and we’ve come here to take them from where they are, to the next level,” said Mr. Clark.

“It’s passing on skills that Anukar and his team deal with in New Zealand and also everything  we’ve learned which we think will be good for the Island Rock team to learn.”

“The training teaches the guys how to do installations as well as dealing with breakdowns, servicing and regular maintenance.”

“We are trying to get them to tidy up on the installation so that it looks neat and professional. Those are the basics we are teaching them.”

“By the look of it, the guys are doing pretty well at the moment but we are pushing them harder to get to a higher level.”

“These guys here, are installers as well and they come from installation  companies and it’s the first time we have had proper technicians from New Zealand.”

Mr. Prasad went on to say that the most common challenge in the field is achieving standards.

“I know there’s an air con association as well here and there needs to be air con standards which we have in New Zealand, It should be here as well and so we are trying to get the guys to that level,” he said.

“We have been in partnership with Island Rock for two and half years and it has been so good because we can see the increase in the business that they are doing and they have taken the proper steps too which is the reason why we are here.”

“Midea is the largest manufacture of refrigeration globally. They also make air condition units and manufacture for other leading European brands.”

“TCL is the largest exporters of air condition units globally and we are very lucky to have that brand and Island Rock is very lucky to have this brand as well.”

“They make air condition units every 35 seconds and Midea own a lot of Toshiba so they are very big companies. So unit wise, they make a lot more but they also manufacture for other leading Japanese brands.”

“We will be back in two months to take the training to the next step.”
