C.B.S. clarifies role in insurance firm's woes

The Central Bank of Samoa (C.B.S.) issued a statement Tuesday clarifying its role in relation to voluntary liquidation, following the recent winding up of one of Samoa’s largest insurance firms Progressive Insurance.

The C.B.S. said Progressive Insurance made a special resolution on 9 September 2021 to go into voluntary liquidation as well as appoint New Zealand resident David Ross as the liquidator.
